ATL was formed in 1981 to design, manufacture and sell affordable milking parlour equipment to dairy farmers.
From the outset the products have been affordable, reliable, easy to use and backed up with excellent customer service and support.
We have a dedicated research and development department, which has developed unique, patented, technologically advanced products, with the aim of increasing dairy farm profitability by reducing time and labour cost inputs during milking.
Our products are a popular choice for dairy farmers because of their adaptability to suit the needs of all types and sizes of dairy farms. Many products operate effectively as stand-alone units, making them suitable for the smaller dairy farmer.
However, the majority products are capable of being integrated into the ATL system and information being available for viewing on ATL Cowculator PC software. This provides the capability of automatically monitoring the progress of each animal's yield and overall management of the dairy herd.
From our factory in Newmarket in the UK, our products are despatched across the UK, Ireland and beyond.
ATL's patented automatic identification system technology is now recognised as the best in it's field and has been acknowledged by three awards.
1997 - First Prize in the Douglas Bomford Trust Silver Jubilee Innovation Award
ATL's herringbone parlour automatic identification system was voted the 'most innovative' agricultural development of the year. The award was presented by Dr. Mary Harris, Director General of the government sponsored Year of Engineering Success and commented 'ATL had advanced cattle recognition technology to within reach of the majority of dairy farmers'.
1999 - Millennium Product Status
ATL's automatic identification system was awarded Millennium Product status and a place in the Millennium Dome in Greenwich, London. The achievement was unique amongst dairy equipment manufacturers and its products are entitled as a result to carry the coveted 'Millennium Product' logo.
2003 - Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) Machinery Awards Gold Medal
The award was presented at the Royal Show at Stoneleigh in the UK for the 'advanced automatic identification system which allows greater labour efficiency, lower stress to operators and animals, greater safety and more opportunity for stockmanship'. ATL is, so far, the only dairy equipment manufacturer to be awarded the prestigious RASE Machinery Awards Gold Medal.
