The large, ultra-bright display characters are easy to read, even in a gloomy parlour. There are dedicated indicators to show when the machine is being programmed, if a cow has warning flags set against it, if it has been fed previously during this milking and which side of the parlour is currently being addressed.

A durable, flexible membrane covers the tactile keys that have been specially chosen for their longevity and reassuring 'click' action. There is no doubt that a key has been pressed; the positive, no-nonsense 'feedback' is immediate. The casing is manufactured from ABS and polycarbonate to the demanding IP65 specification, which together with the moulded-in seal means the MicroMarque3S can withstand the gruelling parlour environment and may be hand washed over and over again, yet still retain its legendary reliability and good looks.

The powerful microprocessors provide rapid access to 999 cow records and with only a few keystrokes data is available covering feed consumption and milk yield for the last and cumulative milkings, as well as a host of warning flags. Herd information is also stored and easy available. The daily and cumulative figures for both feed and milk yields as well as total feed delivered in batch mode are all accessible at the touch of a button.

Using the MicroMarque3S couldn't be simpler. Situated at the entry end of the parlour, all that's needed is the cow number (freeze brand or ear tag) to be keyed in and immediately the cow's data is available, including her current ration allocation. Then just press the 'Feed' key and it is done. The MicroMarque3S will deliver the right amount of feed to the appropriate stall, update the cow and herd records and increment the stall number ready for the next entry. As well as traditional sequential feeding, the MicroMarque3S can be used in stored mode (the cows are only fed when the side is fully occupied) or batch mode (all the cows are fed the same ration automatically regardless of their record).
