Electronic Engineering Technician Vacancy - Added 16-07-2012

ATL provides a range of milking parlours, parlour automation products and robotic milking systems to dairy farmers throughout the UK. Due to expanision, ATL is looking for an Electronic Engineering Technician. You should have an ONC or similar qualification with Electronic Engineering experience. The role is split across 3 areas, with time split between each varying depending upon business requirements, and has the following responsibilities:

Service - Manage and maintain working levels of service stock parts by repairing electronic circuits and components using various tools including hand soldering irons. Provide efficient service to customers including next day delivery of service items to customers. Inspect, price up and repair parts returned by customers for repair. Manage packing, paperwork and postage of service goods to customers.

Technical Support - Provide technical support for customers via telephone for new and existing equipment, recording relevant information on our systems. Long term possibilities for site visiting to service our equipment and support customers.

Testing - Visual inspection production of parts before going onto test department. Provide support to test department testing new items from production using company test equipment and analyse results to evaluate performance and make ready for shipping to customers. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions during testing. Write reports and record data on testing for company records.

General - Read wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units. This role involves working in a team so need to be a good communicator and team player, passing on information to co-workers and customers by telephone, email and in person. Good organisation skills are required to plan and prioritise work. From time to time, provide support to production department manufacturing products during busy periods.
